Josie Got an Attitude . . .

I'm not sure where this came from, but she seems to own it . . .

Zooing with the Crew

Missy and I took the girls to Omaha to the zoo the Monday before their birthdays. Jennie only wanted to see a giraffe, the rest was just icing on the cake. It was hot. So hot. But all the kids did amazing. And look at their smiles . . . we had some serious fun.

Memorial Day Weekend - 2011

The twins got to the point where they were asking what war the veteran fought in. We talked about the Spanish-American war, the Civil War and lots about WWII. They tried to touch every flag they could. They were very concerned about if they were "standing" on the dead person, often opting to stand on the grave instead.

The questions about great-great-great-great grandparents and caskets and dead people in general was always pretty interesting, and they were very interested . . . .

10 on 2sday on a Wednesday

10. As of yesterday, the Abster's divorce was final.

9. Joni called me last night, and that made me happy.

8. Jennie is hard to wake up. The other day when she finally got out of bed she discovered her sisters were all already dressed and ready to go. And she throws up her arms and says, "Great, I'm going to miss the bus!" I died laughing. Grace says this all the time. Then I told Jennie she didn't even ride the bus. And she said, "Oh, yeah."

7. I read Bambie to the twins last night. It was painful. I couldn't get a sentence read without a whole line of questioning and comments. "Where was Bambie's mom shot?" "In the chest?" "No, in the forest," the other answered. "Who shot his mommy?" "Why do people shoot deers?" "Why are the animals talking?" "We have rabbits in our backyard." "I don't want anybody to shoot you, Mommy." "Mommy isn't a deer!" It went on and on. I've gotta hide that book.

6. The neighbors across the road is having work done on their house. There are two Mexicans working on it. We were talking about it a lot last night because they had Mexican music playing and the big girls were asking questions about different kinds of people having different music. This morning, we go out to get in the car and Josie yells to them, "Good morning, Mexicans!" Jennie scolds her, "Them not Mexicans, them strangers!" I told them they were both right . . . they were Mexican strangers.

5. I just sent a text to Grace that said I was dying for Red Lobster and she wrote back, "Ok?" Lol. I can just see her face.

4. Grace tied the twins' blankets in knots this morning, and then wanted me to text Eddie and tell him that it made her miss him :)

3. I got a note from the school nurse that Faith got a scratch under her eye at school. Wow. Glad I had the warning. It was brutal.

2. The American Girl order has been placed. It took them almost two months to decide what they were going to get. Gonna be exciting!

1. I did it!!! And only a day late.

Zooing with my Baby

What I love about Faith is that she's is so in love with animals. She always has been. Her eyes soften, her approach is so gentle. She for sure doesn't get that from me. She's a sweet little girl. I'm so glad I got to spend this day with her.
