International Awareness

Jennie and Jessie at Church in their Spain clothes.
Faith and Eddie.

Eddie came back from Spain with a sack full of clothes from Zara - which is a hip clothing store over there. And it really was incredibly sweet. It humbles me to know there are people a world away who are not only thinking about my children, but have included them into their lives. Eddie, for example, walked into that store, located the little girls' department and considered sizes of the four little Millsap girls back in Iowa. That's pretty cool.

That night, I got out the little dress Joni's host mother made for Faith when she was born. Again, simply priceless. In the girls' room, there are many little things indicate their international exposure - rosary beads from Rome, a statue of the Eiffel Tower, gowns from Afghanistan . . .

Sunday night, Grace got out her map and proceeded to point out every country I named. That was impressive. She's a smart girl. And she's got good people around her who are helping her learn that the world is bigger - and smaller - than we may realize at first.

Thank you, Eddie, for the beautiful clothes. That was really, really kind.

Hey it was a pleasure. But I cannot take all the kudos. It was actually my mother who wanted to buy those and actually did. I only went with her to the store and helped with the sizes.
